Leap Year

Starring Amy Adams and Matthew Goode. Anna Brady (Adams) plans a trip to Dublin to propose to her boyfriend, Jeremy, on Leap Day, which is based on an Irish tradition of women proposing on February 29. After a string of bad luck, Anna relies on the help of an Irish innkeeper (Goode) to arrive in Dublin before Leap Day ends.

Luck of the Irish

Starring Ryan Merriman and Timothy Omundson. This classic Disney Channel original movie follows the story of a popular junior high school basketball player named Kyle Johnson (Merriman) whose family’s lucky gold coin is stolen, causing him to revert to his true leprechaun form. Kyle then has to battle an evil leprechaun named Seamus (Omundson) in several traditional competitions to win back the coin!

P. S. I Love You

Starring Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler. A young widow, Holly Kennedy (Swank), discovers that her late Irish husband, Gerry (Butler), has left her 10 messages intended to help ease her pain and begin again, one of which includes a task to travel to Ireland where they met.

Brooklyn

Starring Saoirse Ronan and Emory Cohen. An Irish immigrant (Ronan) lands in 1950s Brooklyn, where she quickly falls in love with a young Italian local (Cohen). After a family tragedy in Ireland, she must choose between two countries and the lives that exist within.

Themed Games

Potato Bowling with Water Bottle Pins

Give each player a potato and six water bottles. Set the bottles up in bowling pin formation, then bowl the potato across the room to knock over the “pins”. The first player to knock them over a certain number of times, OR the player to knock them over the most times in one minute, is the winner!

Pot O’ Gold Coin Toss

Tape a large 6’x6′ square on the ground, and place a large pot in the middle of it. Players have to stand outside the square and bounce coins into the pot. The first person to land three coins inside wins!

Lucky Charms Marshmallow Minute-To-Win-It

Fill bowls with Lucky Charms cereal and have a corresponding empty bowl for each. Players will have one minute to scoop marshmallows out of the cereal and into the empty bowls using a spoon. The trick is, you can only hold the spoon in your mouth and cannot use your hands!

Scavenger Hunt

This is a game you can truly personalize, and it is great for entertaining kids! Click here for a printable PDF version that tracks a leprechaun as he jumps from one place to another. The game comes with 12 different riddles for various spots around the home. Make sure you have treats for clues once they have been found!

Pin the Four-Leaf Clover on the Leprechaun

Add a fun St. Patty’s Day twist to this classic game! You can use pins or double-sided tape to stick the clovers to the leprechaun. Download the poster and clovers here.

Green Pom Pom Basketball

This is an easy homemade game that is sure to entertain! All you need to do is cover a cereal box with green wrapping paper, cut the middle out of a green plastic cup and stick the cup to the box to form a “hoop”. Then, you can use fluffy green pom-poms as the “basketballs” to shoot for points.
